With Blizzard’s “we’ll release it when it’s done” mantra, hope began to wane that we would get our hands on Diablo IIIthis year. While the game still might not release in 2011, Blizzard announced during an earnings conference call yesterday that the external beta test would launch in Q3 of this year. That’s right, kiddies—get those mouse-clicking fingers nice and limber because it’s about to be kicked into overdrive as you cleave your way through throngs of demonic hordes in the never-ending quest for epic bling. (There's still no word on the rumored console integration of the game.) To be selected for the beta, you need to opt in via the battle.net account settings. We’ll see you in Sanctuary! [via G4TV]
