Today marks the 202nd anniversary of Edgar Allan Poe's birth. The famous American writer, primarily from Boston and whom high school English classes were especially difficult because of, is buried in Maryland, where the Poe Toaster myth lives on. Legend has it (here come the extra-credit college essay points), the Poe Toaster visited the writer's grave every year until 2009, leaving a bottle of cognac and red roses at his grave. That's either the creepiest thing we've ever heard or a greatest kind of infamy. But since the Poe Toaster apparently didn't come last year, we're honoring the iconic wordsmith in another, more modern way: with a blogged countdown of the 10 sexiest women from the Poe Toaster's own "The Old Line" state. Cheers!
Worldwide Wednesday: The 10 Hottest Women From Maryland
We're pretty sure Edgar Allan Poe would've loved to celebrate his birthday with these most gorgeous gifts from the state in which he rests in peace.
