Seven months after dropping the deluxe edition of his latest album Dreamland, Grammy-nominated EDM producer ZHU returns with his new mixtape Musical Chairs Mixtape (Vol. 1).
The seven-track project sees ZHU enlist several collaborators including Elderbrook, Channel Tres, Kiko Franco, Boy Matthews, partywithray, Phil Scully, and Bava, among others.
“When I was young, we would rip our favorite songs off the radio straight onto cassettes. I wanted to make something that reminded my fans of an era that was more physical,” ZHU said about his new effort.
Musical Chairs Mixtape (Vol. 1) is the first full-length offering from ZHU since last December, when he released the deluxe edition of his 2021 album Dreamland, which served as the official follow-up to his second studio album, 2018’s Ringos Desert.
With his latest release behind him, ZHU is set to join Swedish House Mafia on the Paradise Again World Tour. The three-month trek kicks off August 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, making stops in Philadelphia, Houston, and Los Angeles, among other cities, before wrapping November 12 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.
