DaBaby’s lawyer has criticized a recently reported lawsuit against his client in connection with this month’s widely covered bowling alley fight. The lawyer, Drew Findling, is also critical of the investigation surrounding the incident, arguing that such efforts are a waste of “time and energy.”
Per TMZ, Findling said that it was DaniLeigh’s brother, Brandon Bills, who first threatened DaBaby, with Friday’s report pointing to boxing match-related comments Bills gave to the outlet last November. According to Findling, whose previous clients include Gucci Mane and Offset, it’s “offensive” that Bills is reported to be taking legal action.
“It is offensive that this alleged victim threatened and instigated violence and has now used this incident to make a quick money grab,” Findling said. As previously reported, Bills is said to have named the Back on My Baby Jesus Sh!t Again artist in an assault, battery, emotional distress, and negligence suit. DaBaby, meanwhile, has claimed he was acting in self-defense.
As for the ensuing investigation into the incident, footage of which was all over social media this month, Findling argued that “garbage like this” has “no place” in the system.
When reached for comment by Complex on Friday, Findling shared the following:
“There is absolutely no question that any investigation regarding the February 10, 2022 Los Angeles Bowling Alley incident should immediately end upon the recent filing of a civil lawsuit against Jonathan Kirk.
Both DaniLeigh and Bills addressed the incident shortly after footage started going viral this month, with the latter stating that he was “jumped.” In an IG Stories update, meanwhile, DaniLeigh called the incident “lame as hell” and “soooo sad.” The California-area bowling alley where the fight took place has since been reported to have banned DaBaby and his friends from the establishment.
