When Nick Catchdubs and/or Fool's Gold Records—the label he co-owns with A-Trak—co-sign a rapper, chances are they're a talented hit-maker that's willing to cross the bridge from hip-hop swagger into EDM's #plurnt new world. With today's latest released Catchdubs single "Wuts That," it's time to add Bronx's B.I.C. to a list including the likes of Travi$ Scott, Danny Brown, Cam'ron, and Killer Mike & El-P (Run The Jewels) as rappers favored by the indie-to-mainstream (and mainstream-to-indie) success prognosticators. The lead single from Catchdubs' debut artist album (which is scheduled to drop in January of 2015), this one is crunk trap by way of 'Nolia bounce. Sounding like what would happen if you left DJ Toomp and Mannie Fresh alone with Hudson Mohawke's computer with a session of FL Studio open on the screen, B.I.C. (which stands for Bitches Is Crazy) handle the beat with club anthem platitudes and big ballin' boasts everywhere. A vocal anthem change of pace, it's definitely a DJ tool that will hopefully turn a run-of-the-mill turn up session easing into madness on a quick tumble into mania.
