YG kicked off the New Year with an apology.

On Wednesday, the West Coast rapper took to Twitter to tell the LGBTQ he was sorry for his past ignorance: "It's been brought to my attention that my old views on life was ignorant," he wrote. "I apologize to the LGBTQ kommunity for ever komin across like I was anything but respectful and accepting. Live. Love. Ya Life. Gang!"

it’s been brought to my attention that my old views on life was ignorant. i apologize to the LGBTQ kommunity for ever komin across like i was anything but respectful and accepting.
Live. Love. Ya Life. Gang!

It's unclear what exactly prompted the apology, and which "old views" YG was referencing. And although we may never get the answers to those questions, many fans applauded the rapper for his message.

He only saying that to appease to kehlani 😂😂😂

Some suspected Kehlani had something to do with the message, as she identifies as queer. YG and Kehlani confirmed their relationship back in September; however, their current status is unknown, as Kehlani posted a since-deleted tweet last month claiming she was single.

Kehlani really teaching you the ways of the world..
