With each passing day, it feels as though social interactions are becoming more and more impersonal and invariably conducted through technology. It's something a lot of us are beginning to question, including London-based singer-songwriter Alessandro Ciminata whose latest single, "Kings", tackles that very subject. The song itself is a beautifully moody piece of new wave-influenced pop, full of rousing chord progressions and framed around his deep, attention-grabbing vocals. As he urges us to look beyond our phones for more fulfilling relationships, he also offers an element of positivity, that the constant search for the approval of strangers is far from necessary.

Speaking with Complex via email, Ciminata told us: "In the era of social networks we sometimes forget what real life is like. Have you ever asked yourself how many unforgettable moments you could lose by looking at your phone? We don't need to use social networks to feel complete and pretend to be someone we are not. We are who we are and this is unique already."
