Tuesday marks one year since the fatal Manchester Arena bombing, the 2017 terrorist attack that ultimately claimed 22 lives during a stop on Ariana Grande's Dangerous Woman Tour. In a tweeted message late Monday night, Grande said she was "thinking of you all today and every day."

The message was accompanied on Twitter and Instagram with the bee emoji, a longtime symbol of Manchester.

Speaking with Time last week, Grande said she wished "there was more that I could fix," adding that talking about the attack would become easier with time. "I don't want to give it that much power," she said. "Something so negative. It's the absolute worst of humanity. That's why I did my best to react the way I did. The last thing I would ever want is for my fans to see something like that happen and think it won."

"No Tears Left to Cry," the lead single from Grande's upcoming Dangerous Woman follow-up Sweetener, dropped last month. Grande has described sessions for the album as being centered on the idea of "bringing light to a situation or to someone's life or somebody else who brings light to your life," i.e. "sweetening the situation." The album features collaborations with Pharrell and Max Martin and is expected to be released shortly.
