Cipha Sounds: "I was working as an A&R/consultant at Rawkus at the time. And I heard the record, and I said, 'This is pretty good. We should put it out and see if it can make it to Flex and the Tunnel.' The same day that I heard it, Monch played it for Busta Rhymes in the studio. Busta called Flex and told him he had to hear this record. And the record was on the radio that night. And then I definitely took credit at Rawkus and said I got it to Flex. It was Rawkus' first real club banger. There's a difference to me between street and underground. It was an underground record that became a street record. Too bad Pharoahe makes nothing off of it, because of the sample."
