The 10 Worst Auto-Tune Songs

Last week, we brought you The 25 Greatest Auto-Tune Songs as a follow-up to The 50 Greatest Vocoder Songs. In our last post, we spent quite a bit of time defending Auto-Tune and tried to explain its merits. But there's no denying that the Auto-Tune era produced some terrible songs—too many artists thought they could just throw some T-Pain on their shit and the song would become a hit. Unfortunately for them and our ears, most of them didn't get a hit, and many of them ended up on our list for The 10 Worst Auto-Tune Songs.

We showed love to Browz for his club banger "Pop Champagne" and put it on our 25 Greatest Auto-Tune Songs list, but by the time he released "Gimmie $20 Dollars" it was kind of obvious that dude was a one-trick pony. This song is so awful we can't decide if we should jump out the window ourselves or just offer him $20 to take the plunge.

How many fails has this man incurred? Let us count the ways...wait, we already did that. But yeah, this song was so pathetic you probably never even heard it because blogs didn't even bother to post it, despite it being released during the height of Hamilton's career (a relative term, obviously). You know you made a shitty dis record when Soulja Boy ethers you with without spitting a bar.

It was inevitable that Birdman would try his hand at Auto-Tune since he's watched Lil Wayne Auto-Tune his way into one hit after another. But here's the thing: Birdman isn't a very skilled rapper. And when you combine that with one of the most played-out effects, you get one horrendously bad verse. But we're glad to say Baby never used Auto-Tune again after this. Or maybe he did, but we were lucky enough to have missed it.
