A 17-year-old high school student in Griffin, Georgia has been charged with producing and distributing child pornography after she AirDropped an explicit video of a 15-year-old student, WSB-TV reports.

Local police were made aware of the incident after a school resource officer at Griffin High School was notified that an explicit video of a student had been electronically shared in the school lunchroom. Further investigation into the matter concluded that the individual in the clip was a 15-year-old female student at the school. While the initial report from WSB-TV does not mention the gender of the students involved, the Griffin Daily News confirmed both parties involved were female.

After interviewing the 17-year-old, officers said she screen recorded the explicit act while on a FaceTime call with the other student. According to the police report on the matter, she then AirDropped the video after the two had a falling out. The phone containing the explicit video was confiscated by the police, and the 17-year-old admitted that she knew the other girl was just 15.

The 17-year-old is currently being held at the Spalding County Jail. Police said that the girl in the explicit video initially told authorities that the older girl must have sent out the video to a friend by mistake, despite conflicting statements from the girl who got charged. It is unclear how much potential time the student, who has not been publicly named because she is also a minor, is facing behind bars, if any.
