PROMO: 'Beyond Neon'—Lauren Sanderson and Glenjamn Show You the Unexpected Off the Las Vegas Strip

Explore the hidden gems that live off the Strip with a Vegas first-timer and a Vegas nightlife veteran.

When you venture off the Strip in Las Vegas, you may be surprised by what you find. It’s a version of the city that showcases its natural beauty and history, and touts the world-class dining, entertainment, and bright lights the city is known for. In the second video of our Beyond Neon series, singer-songwriter Lauren Sanderson and scene photographer/videographer Glenjamn take us on a tour of Las Vegas, off of its fabled Strip.

First, Lauren and Glen hit up Downtown Las Vegas. "Other than the nightlife, Vegas is 100 percent known for their food," Sanderson says, before she and Glen dig into the decadent yet down-home Garbage Fries and mac-and-cheese balls at Park on Fremont. Post-feast, they visit The Laundry Room, the password-required speakeasy that takes you back in time—pre-prohibition, specifically. To cap off the day, our dynamic duo soar over Bootleg Canyon via zipline, seeing spectacular desert scenery from a bird's-eye-view.

"Why is Vegas so special?" Glen muses as the lights over Fremont Street sparkle and shine. Lauren sums up the spirit of the city: "It doesn't matter if it's 3 a.m. or 3 p.m.,” she says. “Everything's popping.”
