In announcement that a lot of '90s kids and fans of sugary treats have been waiting for, General Mills confirmed Dunkaroos will return to U.S. shelves this summer. In a blog post on Monday, General Mills announced the cafeteria staple will finally be available outside of Canada.
"We’re thrilled to relaunch Dunkaroos in the U.S. after years of it only being available in Canada," said president of Snacks at General Mills, Jeff Caswell. "For those who grew up in the ‘90s, the original cookie-frosting combo represents the taste, color and fun of being a kid during that decade. We know there’s a lot of love for Dunkaroos, and fans everywhere have been asking for it. We’re excited to help '90s kids relive all the best parts of childhood."
The move comes after years of pleading from fans, including Chrissy Teigen. Shortly after General Mills made the announcement, a new Dunkaroos Twitter account replied to tweets from Chrissy, Tyler, the Creator, Kim Kardashian, and a user who got over 200K retweets to show how much people wanted them back.
Needless to say, fans of the snack, which was discontinued in America in 2012, are overjoyed at the announcement.
