A pair of suspected suicide bombings have left one person dead and several others injured in Tunisia.

PerReuters, a police officer was killed and at least one other officer and three civilians injured in Charles de Gaulle Street in central Tunis in the first apparent attack. After, a second bomber near a police facility in the al-Qarjani district left at least four people wounded. However, those numbers are preliminary and may change as more information becomes available.

Early reports state that it's not yet known who’s responsible for the attack, which notably come months ahead of an election and in the middle of a busy tourist season. The attacks were further described in an Associated Pressupdate as having occurred almost simultaneously in the Tunisian capital.

Back in October, the same region saw more than a dozen people injured by a suicide bombing in the Tunisian capital.

In 2015, 60 people were killed in separate attacks in Tunis and Sousse, one at a museum and one on a tourist-packed beach.
