A Kentucky man killed his newborn after losing in a video game, local NBC-TV affiliate WAVE reports.

Anthony Trice was at home with his one-month-old boy on Friday in Louisville when he lost the game. He became angry and allegedly flung the game controller and punched his son in the head. He then purportedly dropped the crying baby on the ground.

According to authorities, the 26-year-old left his son on the floor when he went to the bathroom, then came back to find the baby in distress. The boy was taken to a hospital, where he passed away on Sunday from his injuries.

Trice was charged with murder and criminal abuse of a child, per WAVE. He appeared in court on Monday and was ordered to be held on a $1 million bond.

The Louisville story follows the latest update regarding another incident of violence in the gaming world. In April, a man was charged with domestic assault after body-slamming a woman after she unplugged his PlayStation console. The woman is said to have suffered head injuries, the extent of which had not been reported at the time.

Prior to that, in March, a man who initiated a swatting amid a Call of Duty: WWII argument that ultimately turned fatal was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
