With all the negative and tragic news that has surrounded overseas factories as of late, it’s good to hear something new and innovative brewing in Asia. Chinese factory workers are now keeping cool at work thanks to air-conditioned vests that can help them get through a brutal 10-hour shift in often challenging work conditions, China Dailyreports.

The vests work by circulating cool air through a series of tubes that are designed to keep the wearer’s core temperature at a reasonable level—making their grueling shift all that more comfortable.

Surprisingly, the vests are rather affordable and only come with a price tag equivalent to $33—which makes them readily available to the people who need them the most: the workers.

Usually, overseas factories are slammed and dragged through the media for having inhospitable conditions for their workers, and offering wages that barely support families. However, this news is great, and shows that there is a concerted effort to boost China’s profile as a quality, manufacturing nation.

Hey, if J.Crew and Ralph Lauren are making great clothes overseas, then not everything that’s made in China is that bad, and this is further evidence.
