Serena Williams and Jimmy Fallon went head-to-head in a little axe-throwing contest during The Tonight Show on Wednesday. The two took turns hurling their respective axes at a wooden target to the delight of those in attendance.

While Serena is the far superior athlete, Fallon eventually went on to win when he hit the ten point bullseye on his final turn. Never one to boast, Fallon took his victory over one of the greatest living physical specimens in total stride. Just kidding. He celebrated like a giddy schoolboy, and you know what? That's fine. Serena seemed to enjoy his shenanigans because she knew what we knew: Fallon has done this before. He did it seven months ago with Jennifer Lawrence, whereas this was Williams' first ever attempt at the oddball sport.

But by her last turn, she seemed to have gotten the hang of it too, hitting the part of the target worth 5 points. She sounded surprised that she hit anything at all. “I’ll give you the win,” Fallon said, laughing, with his jacket on his head, adding, “Serena Williams, everybody! The real champ.”

Serena was on the show to promote her forthcoming HBO series Being Serena, which takes a look at how the tennis icon handles pregnancy and motherhood, while still dominating the court. Being Serena premieres on HBO on May 2.
