Floyd Mayweather is very confident that a fight against Conor McGregor will eventually go down. Earlier this month, a rumor surfaced of a possible bout between McGregor and Mayweather, though many were quick to shoot it down. But that didn't stop The Notorious from hyping it up on his Instagram account.

On Friday, Floyd discussed the highly publicized possible fight and seemed incredibly positive that they would see each other in the ring...one day. "The fight may happen. You don't really know as of right now," he said. "But do I think the fight will happen? Absolutely." Mayweather also indicated that the fight would need to be a boxing match as opposed to an MMA match.

Mayweather and McGregor may come from two different worlds, but if there's one thing that they have in common, it's their ability to talk a good game. Everything that has gone down these past few weeks is just par for the course. Both guys know how to hype up their own fights—in this case, even the ones that may never see the light of day.

Much like the talk leading up to his fight against Manny Pacquiao, Floyd would always say all the right things to the media, but eventually it all grew tiresome and everyone started to take the "we'll believe it when we see" approach to the would-be fight. Anyone anticipating a matchup would be wise to treat this situation the same way.
