Following a solid performance by third-string quarterback Colt McCoy, the Washington Redskins may not feel too inclined to rush Robert Griffin III back onto the field after suffering a dislocated ankle in Week 2. At least, that's what we thought. However, according to Dianna Marie Russini of NBC4 D.C., Griffin is going to be the starter for their game against the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday.
Meanwhile, the NFL Network's Albert Breer believes that Griffin will be tested before making a final decision.
Russini followed up her scoop with a quote from a Washington source...
...and a text from an anonymous Redskins player:
Obviously, a lot can change between now and Sunday. It's being reported that team doctors have yet to clear Griffin for game action. Head coach Jay Gruden has to see how RGIII handles a full practice. Still, if the 24-year-old can clear those two (huge) hurdles, we should fully expect to see him suited up and ready to play in TCF Bank Stadium this weekend.
