The Hunger Games: Mockingjay– Part 2 continues to dominate the box office remaining number one for the third week in a row. Although Katniss Everdeen is killing her competition at the theater, Krampus, a holiday-themed horror film surprised everyone when it beat Pixar's Good Dinosaur

Mockingjay– Part 2 topped the box office, grossing $18 million. Screen Crushadds that while the movie is still a hit, and has out-performed many other franchise films, it will be lucky to hit $300 million. And even if it does reach $300 million, it will still fall short from its predecessor's box office rating.

The biggest surprise this weekend was Universal's new horror movie Krampus, directed by Michael Dougherty. The film scored $16 million during its North American opening and beat not only Pixar's Good Dinosaur but Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone's Creed. The film centers on a young boy (Emjay Anthony) who accidentally awakens a demonic Santa Claus. The cast includes Toni Collette and Adam Scott.

Unfortunately for Good Dinosaur, the animated film dropped in its second week coming in fourth at the box office. The Hollywood Reporternoted that this Pixar's biggest drop ever for the studio. The seventh installment to the Rocky franchise, Creed beat Pixar placing third in its second week. The buzzed about boxing film scored $15 million.

Let's be real though, Star Wars: Force Awakens will dominate the box office and probably the world when it premieres in two weeks.
