FIFA’s self-funded, self-obsessed vanity film United Passions was released slap-bang in the middle of the recent round of arrests—and made only $918, making t the lowest performing film ever in U.S. box office history. It was also terrible.
But the on-going FIFA scandal could make a great movie—and it might still do. Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are going to produce an adaptation of Houses of Deceit, the upcoming book by journalist Ken Bensinger. House of Deceit focuses on Chuck Blazer, the disgraced former FIFA executive who went undercover for the FBI to bring him colleagues down.
No word yet if Affleck or Damon will star, but we think Django Unchained’s Christoph Waltz would make a pretty great Sepp Blatter.
It's got to be better than this
