Golden Girls. What could we say to express our love for four of the fiercest ladies we've ever known? The stars aligned, the gods looked down upon us and smiled, and we were given four comedic greats, all in one show.
The seven-season show followed four titans in the golden years of their lives as they lived together in Miami. The ladies talked about the issues of the '80s—homosexuality, sex after menopause, HIV/AIDS, among others. It's not a stretch to say that The Golden Girls was edgier than most of the comedies on TV today, and it handled it with grace.
If you ever need a shoulder to lean on, pull up a chair, grab a slice of cheesecake and turn on the finale of The Golden Girls. Laugh through your tears. —TA
