You know the Bardi Gang and Hotties were stoked.

During her headlining set at London’s Wireless FestivalCardi B surprised fans by inviting Megan Thee Stallion to join her on stage. The Grammy-winning rappers delivered an energetic performance of their chart-topping collaborative track “WAP,” which they hadn’t performed together since last year’s Grammy Awards.

“Here’s my motherfuckin’ bitch, I love her,” Cardi told the crowd, prompting Megan to begin twerking. “I can’t get freaky with her, ’cause you know, that’s my brother’s girlfriend.”

“WAP” was released in summer 2020 and immediately left listeners polarized. While some referred to the track as a female empowerment anthem, a number of conservative figures slammed its lyrics as overly sexual and anti-feminist. Cardi addressed the controversy during a 2020 interview on the The Kyle and Jackie O Show, explaining the track wasn’t intended for kids.

“The people that the song bothers are usually conservatives or really religious people,” she explained “But my thing is, I grew up listening to this type of music. Other people might think it’s strange and vulgar, but to me, it’s almost like really normal, you know what I’m saying? … No, of course I don’t want my child to listen to this song and everything. It’s for adults.”
