In the greatest reason ever to actually watch The Voice, NBC announced this morning that Rihanna will be joining the show's season 9 run this fall as a "key advisor." Joining the four panel judges Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani (who will be returning after a hiatus last season and after recently filing for divorce from Gavin Rossdale), Rihanna will help the judges make critical decisions in the competition. Rihanna follows a list of artists who have also served as a key advisor in previous seasons including Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Fun’s Nate Ruess and Taylor Swift. Maybe The Voice shouldn't end afterall - at least not until we get to see RiRi.
The show's upcoming ninth season returns to NBC September 21.
