Rihanna Joins 'The Voice' As Key Advisor Next Season

'The Voice' is getting new star power for its upcoming ninth season. NBC announced this morning that Rihanna will be joining the show's season 9 run this fall.

In the greatest reason ever to actually watch The Voice, NBC announced this morning that Rihanna will be joining the show's season 9 run this fall as a "key advisor." Joining the four panel judges Adam Levine, Blake SheltonPharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani (who will be returning after a hiatus last season and after recently filing for divorce from Gavin Rossdale), Rihanna will help the judges make critical decisions in the competition. Rihanna follows a list of artists who have also served as a key advisor in previous seasons including Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Fun’s Nate Ruess and Taylor Swift. Maybe The Voice shouldn't end afterall - at least not until we get to see RiRi.

The show's upcoming ninth season returns to NBC September 21.
