Glastonbury Organizer Defends Kanye West

The petition to stop Kanye West from headlining Glastonbury has amassed over 100,000 signatures, citing their desire for a rock band to close out the legendary concert. Glastonbury co-founder Emily Eavis wrote an open letter to The Guardian to express her thoughts on the matter, and to defend the decision to have Kanye headline the show. In the lengthy letter she makes it a point to mention that the event hasn't been limited to only rock acts in the past, name dropping acts such as The Prodigy and Beyoncé to name a few. She even mentions that Kanye is doing the concert for a "fraction" of what he normally makes in order to support causes such as Greenpeace. Eavis' support is unwavering and she gives Kanye a great cosign saying that "there is no question in my mind that we have got one of the greatest artists of his generation headlining."
