Now that 2022 is officially in motion, it’s time to kick off the new year with some new fits. Although many brands pause on dropping products during the holidays, there are still a number of great releases to shop from this week. The New York City- based streetwear brand Irak has just released a new range of products that pay tribute to graffiti icons like Sace. Levi’s has collaborated with Beams on a “Super-Wide” collection of denim goods. Luxury brands like Balenciaga have already released their “Year of the Tiger” capsules for the upcoming Lunar New Year. Meanwhile, Gucci has just released its second installment of its hyped collaboration with The North Face, which is set to hit pop-ups this month.

Irak

Levi’s has collaborated with the Japanese label Beams on a new collection made up of denim jeans, trucker jackets, and a pocket T-shirt. Each piece is given a subtle twist by being designed as a “Super Wide” version. Every element of the garment is blown up to be wider including the pockets, button fly on the jeans, pocket on the T-shirt, and the single pocket on the trucker jacket. The Levi’s Type I Trucker is stretched out wide for a baggier fit. 
The straight leg jeans found within the collection also arrive in super baggy sizing. Lastly, the T-shirt boasts a wide fit and features a graphic print of the stretched out Levi’s back patch. 
A dark indigo rinse version of the denim trucker jacket and jeans will only be available exclusively at select Beams retailers. 

Balenciaga 'Year of the Tiger' Capsule

Balenciaga has just released their newest capsule collection to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year. Balenciaga’s “Year of the Tiger” capsule collection includes a number of pieces that are graced with tiger motifs. Black and orange colors pop off on T-shirts, caps, handbags, sneakers, boots, hoodies, accessories, and more. 

Loewe x 'Spirited Away'

Loewe once again looks towards the revered Japanese animation studio, Studio Ghibli, for a collaboration that is centered on the beloved Hayao Miyazaki film Spirited Away. Similar to the label’s previous collaboration with Miyazaki’s film My Neighbour Totoro, Loewe’s latest capsule includes a wide range of garments inspired by the Oscar-winning film. Spirited Away characters such as Chihiro, Yubaba, and Kaonashi appear on leather bags, knitwear, blankets, and T-shirts. 

Evisu x Monopoly

The Japanese brand Evisu has collaborated with Hasbro’s Monopoly to release a collection that commerates the iconic board game. Monopoly’s bank notes and cards are mashed with Evisu’s signature motifs. Garments within the collection include a white track jacket, grey hoodie, sweatshirts, T-shirts, patchwork denim jackets, and Evisu’s beloved jeans. An Evisu edition of Monopoly will also be available. 

SNS Spring 2022 Nature Collection

SNS has just released its third drop from its Spring 2022 Nature Collection. The brand’s third drop is inspired by fresh produce. A hoodie, T-shirt, and a pair of neutral tweed pants are now available along with mohair cardigans, fleece jackets, wool caps, basketballs, harris tweed varsity jackets, wool pants, and more. 

Dr. Martens x Goodhood

Dr. Marten’s has once again collaborated with the London-based lifestyle retailer Goodhood centered around the UB 101 boot​​​​​. The collaborative boot features white screenprinted graphics across the its upper complemented by a distinctive contrast white welt stitch. Gun metal eyelets add additional flair, while the boot stays true to form with Dr. Martens’ signature black-and-yellow heel loop. 

Kehinde Wiley Apparel Collection

The artist Kehinde Wiley has launched a limited-edition apparel and merchandise collection highlighting a selection of his favorite compositions from his archive. The collection was designed by FREAQ Creative Agency, a rising Black Women owned agency. All the pieces within the collection will support Black Rock, a non-profit artist in residence program

founded by Wiley that is based in Dakar, Senegal in 2019. Items within the collection include basketballs, candles, decks of playing cards, pajamas, postcards, puffer coats, scarves, sweatshirts, and T-shirts.
