Teddy Santis' Aimé Leon Dore has grown in leaps and bounds since it debuted in early 2014. It's found a firm footing providing fitted, cozy basics with a higher-than-average taste level. Its most recent "35th St." collection only showed how big things have gotten. Sure, there may be a lot of sweatpants and sweatshirts in here, but they're cut and crafted in ways that almost make you proud when someone asks if you are (actually) wearing sweatpants.
Well, the brand's growth only continues as it just debuted its first foray into clothing for the fairer sex with a womenswear collection. With athleisure still gripping the nation and continually relaxed workplace dress codes, it makes sense to broaden the appeal across the aisle. The debut assortment feels pretty honest without being a complete porting over of the men's designs—coat sleeves are cropped and neck openings are a bit wider, for instance. Inspired by Santis' Queens upbringing, it's named "47th St." after the neighborhood where his grandparents lived and features similar, but different, versions of what we've come to know from ALD. It also sits firmly in the same price bracket, $120-430.
