In terms of street art, the month of June did not disappoint us. With festivals like POW! WOW! Taiwan and the MURAL Festival bringing artists all over the world, muralists increasingly have more exciting avenues to give the public awe-inspiring art. Check out these captivating murals that were created last month with In These Streets: The Best Street Art From June 2014.

Location: Te Awamutu, New Zealand
Askew went back to his home in New Zealand to paint a remarkable portrait where the purple, black, and pink compliment the already teal building.
Location: Giardini Naxos, Sicily
In tribute to Bacchus, the God of winemaking and wine, Sr. X painted a large version of Bacchus popping out of the wall with a cigarette in one hand and what seems to be a beer can in the other.
Sheryo and Yok
Location: Taipei, Taiwan
Sheryo and the Yok have collaborated many times before, and they were invited to POW! WOW! Taiwan this year to work together again. Their mural depicts a crocodile doing some graffiti on its own. Like many of their other murals, the painting has shades of red and yellow to add to the black, white, and gray.
Location: Mongolia
In Mongolia, artist 2501 went on a spiritual journey where he created and painted pieces that he refers to as "Nomadic Experiments." The experiment is an ongoing project where 2501 tried out different forms, materials, and ideas while sticking to his signature, hypnotizing line work.
Location: Giardini Naxos, Sicily
Polish artist Seikon created a piece at this year's Emergence Festival in Giardini Naxos, Sicily this year. His mural, which is above a stone wall, is mainly made up of black geometric shapes and lines complimented with hints of blue, red, and gold.

At the first POW! WOW! Taiwan in Taipei, Kamea Hadar collaborated with Reach and Jeffrey Gress to paint a huge piece that took up over two walls. The mural depicted a realistic face at the center of what looks like white animated pieces of hair. It's awesome that these three talents came together for something as big as this.

INSA teamed up with MADSTEEZ during this year's POW! WOW! Taiwan to create a multicolor mural that looks even better in motion. It's the world's largest GIF-ITI piece.

2501 continued his "Nomadic Experiment" journey and brought a similar look to this year's MURAL Festival in Montreal. 2501's piece gives off a hypnotizing effect, and his use of lines almost makes his work look 3D.

Kashink is a standout female artist in the French graffiti and street art scene. She usually paints huge four-eyed characters with thick lines and bright colors, and she definitely outdid herself at this year's MURAL Festival in Montreal.

Julian "Seth" Mallard, also known as Globepainter, painted a boy dipping his face into a multicolored outlet for this year's MURAL Festival in Montreal. This is definitely a reoccurring theme for him.

INTI gets inspiration from his Chilean roots and usually depicts traditions from his culture into his work. His mural for this year's MURAL Festival in Montreal was no exception. INTI used hues of orange and purple and incorporated faint Chilean symbols with the figure who has bullets wrapped around its chest.

Bezt of Etam Cru painted a piece at this year's MURAL Festival in Montreal depicting a young girl carrying many birdhouses on her back while staring at a red bird in front of her. The piece has his trademark imagery of a bird, and the whole painting is filled with color.
Kevin Ledo
Location: Montreal
Kevin Ledo has a knack for making eerily realistic portraits, and he did one particularly awesome one at this year's MURAL Festival in Montreal. The piece was inspired by a photograph taken by Edward Curtis of a woman in the Hupa Tribe in California.

At this year's Governors Ball Music Festival there were many murals created to honor New York. Among them was Icy and Sot's piece depicting an everyday ride on the subway with one man painted in color among a crowd of black and white.

JR worked on a project called Au Pantheon where he covered the Pantheon in Paris with thousands of portraits inside and out. On the outside, you can see the many faces around the top of the entrance, while on the inside a similar pattern of the faces can be seen on the ceiling, floors, and walls.
James Jean
Location: Taipei, Taiwan
On a wall at the Taipei Zoo, James Jean painted Paradise, a mural for POW! WOW! Taiwan. It depicts demon figures grappling with each other in a pile of chaos which also comments on animals in captivity.
CCNCTD
Location: New York
English electronic music duo (and brothers) Disclosure teamed up with Roman Grandinetti of CNNCTD to paint their signature portrait on a wall in New York's Lower East Side. Along with the image are five alphanumeric codes that have special meanings to the band and their story.
Tristan Eaton
Location: Honolulu
Obviously with more added color than the original logo, Tristan Eaton's depiction of Medusa was done in collaboration with Versace to celebrate the opening of their new store in Honolulu.
Location: Gdynia, Poland
The first mural of the Traffic Design Festival in Poland was painted by Italian artist Basik. It shows a hidden figure beneath a black robe with the only pop of color being the figure's hands.
Aaron de la Cruz % Rone
Location: Taipei, Taiwan
Aaron de la Cruz teamed up with Rone to create a portrait of a woman with Aaron's signature geometric patterns against the wall of Tangnan University. Made during POW! WOW! Taiwan, this is the largest mural De la Cruz has created in his career. It's a perfect union of the two artists' styles.
