Icons of British fashion, Fred Perry and Margaret Howell come together for an exclusive capsule collection for both Men and Women.
Taking cues from the heritage aesthetics of Fred Perry's early tennis apparel, the collection opts for a simplistic approach that celebrates the close proximity to quality that is synonymous with British fashion. The collaboration achieves this through the collision of worlds, melding both brands unique, distinctly British aesthetics through a careful balance.
Built using the original M3 Fred Perry Polo Shirt as the basis, this collaboration uses an updated fabrication of fine pique that references the original fabrics utilised in the 50s. Howell's updated versions for both Men and Women also feature lightweight ribbed collars, side splits, and mother of pearl buttons from Margaret Howell's mainline collection. Delivering full looks, the collection also finished an oversized cropped bomber jacket, straight-leg trousers, Tennis skirt, and cotton canvas plimsolls, each of which is finished with the iconic Laurel Wreath.
Speaking on the collaboration, Margaret Howell said: “There’s something very rewarding for me to be collaborating with established British Brand Fred Perry. The white polo shirt and sounds of Wimbledon set firmly in my mind from distant sunny school days…”
