Andrew Wiggins was named to the NBA All-Star Game Thursday. He will be a starter for the Western ConferenceĀ and thatā€™s where the conversation begins.Ā

Wiggins is having a career year in terms of shot efficiency, shooting 48.1 percent from the field and 40.4 percent from beyond the arc. His official selection comes after theĀ latestĀ returns last week showed that he was third inĀ voting for the Western Conference frontcourt.

LeBron James now leads the NBA in the latest fan returns for NBA All-Star Voting presented by Tissot, which concludes this Saturday, Jan. 22.

The three players trailing Wiggins were Paul George, Anthony Davis, and Draymond Green, all of whom have been sidelined for a considerable amount of time with injuries. Wiggins simply found himself in the right conference, at the right time, while being considered for the most advantageousĀ position: a frontcourt spot.Ā

Meanwhile, the NBA on TNT crew discussed how Wiggins benefitedĀ fromĀ assumingĀ a role with Golden State that was best suited for him.Ā

"I want to congratulate him."

While many were clowning the selection, here are some people who were congratulatingĀ Wiggins on hisĀ first All-Star appearance, and praising the Warriors, specifically Stephen Curry, who seemingly always raises the performance of his teammates with his own play.Ā

Andrew Wiggins was considered a liability because of his contract two years ago. Heā€™s now an All-star starter.

Credit to Wiggs for working his ass off, but Steph Curry is the greatest teammate-elevator of all time

Andrew Wiggins made the all star team. Good for him. Takes some people longer to find the ideal situation. šŸ‘šŸ» šŸ‘šŸ» šŸ‘šŸ»

Wiggins even being in the All-Star convo, let alone STARTING, is proof of how Steph makes players better.
Much credit to the work Wiggins put in and the willingness to play in our system.

This whole Wiggins All Star thing just proves that no matter what you accomplish in life some folks will be there to try and discredit you and tear you down and say you didnā€™t deserve it.
