Paul Pogba just threw a curveball at his own transfer saga.
The Juventus midfielder – who has been rumoured to be on the verge of a record-breaking €145 million transfer to Manchester United – just appeared in a short video with adidas, telling fans to not believe everything they read in the papers.
With one of the best social media teams in football, adidas rarely miss out on an opportunity to put their brand and athletes at the heart of a story, but Manchester United fans are worried this is Pogba's way of telling the world he's staying at Juve.
Football fans think adidas just dropped a hint on the year's big transfer saga.
Others think the advert is actually a reference to a tweet from Pogba's agent – Mino Raiola – which stated there was no deal in place, and all the talk was "bla, bla, bla".
By telling us to ignore the "bla, bla, bla" – some fans actually think adidas just confirmed the transfer.
Some United fans think this means Pogba is definitely coming to United.
So, really, we're right back where we started.
If nothing else, the tweet keeps the story moving and adds another layer of speculation to the deal.
As sponsors of Pogba and all the clubs interested in making him the most expensive player in the world – Manchester United and Real Madrid – as well as his current team, Juventus, adidas win either way.
