The Knicks are in the news again for all the wrong reasons. Frank Isola of the New York Daily News, a known James Dolan hater, reported this morning that the owner is already butting heads with his new hire Phil Jackson. This most likely doesn't mean much but with the Knicks you just never know. Dolan's track record since becoming the majority owner in 1999 is pretty spotty and the 2013-2014 season was a disaster. So we sat down with thespian and Knicks lifer Michael Rapaport during his press run for his documentary When the Garden Was Eden (made its debut at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival) to talk about the notable fails of possibly Carmelo Anthony's last year wearing the orange and blue. We covered everything from J.R. Smith to Air Bargs. Check out #FAILTAPE: Recapping the Worst of the Knicks Season.

The Andrea Bargnani Trade

Date: 7/10/13

The Knicks traded Marcus Camby's contract, Quentin Richardson's contract, Steve Novak, two second round draft picks, and a 2016 first rounder for one of the softest big men in history. And just like everyone expected, the move didn't work. He played in only 42 games because he decided to try and jump over two 76ers.

On the bright side, the Knicks will have around $30 million at the end of the 2015 season when his and Amar'e's contracts expire. But that'll probably be without Melo in the fold.

J.R. Smith Likes to Toke

Date: 9/6/13

Earl started the 2014 season off right with a five-game suspension for dirty urine. Like he couldn't get one of his younger cousins to give him piss? Bad enough he disappeared after elbowing Jason Terry in Game 4 of their first round series. He also had to get knee surgery after signing a three-year/$18 million contract. Earl's gonna be Earl.

Amar'e's Defense

Date: 11/19/13

This is just sad. It's a microsim of STAT's career. All offense, no defense. It's even worse that it's against the Pistons. He's still a better player than a healthy Bargnani though.

Andrea's Dumb 3-Pointer

Date: 12/18/13

Already not happy with the acquisition of Bargs, the Knick faithful were officially done with him after this display of basketball acumen. Knicks were up 94-92 in OT with 11 seconds left, shot clock turned off, and Andrea shoots a three as soon as he gets the ball. The Knicks won in double overtime, no thanks to Bargnani.

J.R.'s Dumb 3-Pointer

Date: 1/3/14

The game was tied at 100 and the Knicks had possession with 24 seconds left after getting the offensive board after a miss. The ball swings to a wide-open J.R. who then jacks up a three instead of holding for the last shot. He clanked it and Beno Udrih fouled Aaron Brooks while battling for the rebound.

After the game Smith said he thought the Knicks were down two and that it was bad basketball IQ on his part. That loss dropped them to 10-22.

Air Bargs

Date: 1/22/14

Although it's a fail, this might be the highlight of the Knicks' season. You have to respect his resovle here, he saw an opportunity and went for it. Too bad he tore an elbow ligament on the fall which put him on the sidelines for the remainder of the season. May this GIF live forever.

Raymond Felton Is Tired of Everything

Date: 2/12/14

The Knicks season in a nutshell. Disinteresting and tiring. This was during an OT loss to the Kings—the fifth L in six games. Fans were booing and Felton was without a care in the world. It's not like he's facing a three-year bid or anything. It's really not a big deal but it's Raymond Felton.

Raymond Felton Likes to Brandish Weapons

Date: 2/25/14

While struggling all year from the field and on defense, Felton didn't help matters when he was brought up on gun charges. His wife, who filed for divorce, told the police that he had threatened her with a gun when she handed the pistol over to them. If we learned anything from the Plaxico Burress incident it's that New York does not play when it comes to guns.

Felton is most definitely doing a bid. Although, he should be locked up for that shirt alone.

They Played Melo with a Torn Shoulder

Date: 4/13/14

The Knicks were out of the playoffs and they played him. He had injured his shoulder against Brooklyn on April 2 but refused to get it checked because they were in the playoff hunt. On April 6 against Miami, it really bothered him and he didn't take a shot in the fourth quarter—part of the reason why J.R. took 22 threes. Melo put up 30 in a win against the Raptors on April 11 but it was for nothing because an Atlanta win knocked the Knicks out of the playoffs.

So why did he play in the Chicago game? The team doctors decided to check his shoulder afterwards and discovered a torn rigt labrum. Smart move, guys.

From 54 Wins to Missing the Playoffs

Date: 2014

They had a bunch of chances but ultimately failed to make the postseason a year after winning 54 games. This (along with their record) cost Mike Woodson his job and might cost them Melo as well. In his 11 NBA seasons, Carmelo has never missed the playoffs. Also, that first rounder New York traded to Denver in the Anthony deal is now a lottery pick.

The Knicks are the most creative team when it comes to failing miserably.
