Thanks to the talented, and very good looking, stars of HBO's True Blood, the vampire craze that's taken a hold of pop culture won't be going anywhere. Plenty of fans obsess over Anna Paquin's Sookie and Alexander Skarsgård's Eric, but Deborah Ann Woll, who plays Jessica, deserves just as much attention.
Her character was first introduced in the second season of the hit show. Raised a devout and chase Christian, she's turned by Bill and really embraces the hedonistic vampire lifestyle.
While the likes of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson express ambivalent feelings about fictional blood-suckers, Woll has always been a horror film fanatic and loves to attend Comic-Con. There's nothing more attractive than passion, right?
It's evident from bio and work off the camera that she's not your average young Hollywood star—which is why we're crushing on her so hard. Check out what makes Deborah Ann Woll so appealing.

She's actually a natural blonde and has been dying her hair red since her freshman year of high school.
In an interview with Elle magazine, the 28-year-old German/Irish actress explained the decision for dying her hair, stating, “As a fair skinned blonde, I disappeared into the background. I’ve always been a loner, so I suppose dyeing my hair red was a way to say, ‘I’m here, I exist, I’m a human being and you can’t just push me aside.’"

Woll had a career in theatre before she started working in television.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, the 28-year-old beauty moved out west to enroll in University of Southern California's School of Theatre, where she graduated with a BFA in Acting. After college, her first credited role was a guest spot as Nancy Wiscinski in the television series Life.

She had to act like she was being attacked by an invisible vampire, by lying on the ground and squirming around, during her audition for True Blood.
The actress even went so far as to eat her own tears at her audition, a deliberate attempt to break through her own admitted introversion. Unlike Jessica, Woll confesses that she isn't as confident or sassy as her claim-to-fame character, however that didn't stop her from charming casting directors anyway.

She has a high intolerance to gluten due to her celiac disease.
Despite her condition however, Woll maintains a healthy lifestyle, crediting her boyfriend her motivation. In 2009, she told The Vault, "My boyfriend really is my inspiration to stay healthy and not put myself in jeopardy by being careless about it. He has a rare eye disease called Choroideremia, which is causing him to slowly go blind. He is so courageous and proactive about preparing for this inevitability in the face of something so scary, I can only be awed by his strength and commitment. I feel as though I honor him by being equally as strong in my much less life changing predicament with Celiacs."

She met her very serious boyfriend, E.J. Scott, who is on the verge of becoming legally blind, on Match.com.
Contrary to everyone else in Hollywood, the actress isn't trying to keep her relationship secret. She openly discusses online dating, which she started at 23 years old, right out of college. "I’d always had a hard time meeting boys. I had a serious boyfriend in high school, but Hollywood, where it’s all about being 'cool,' terrifies me! When I opened my Match account, I’d done a few guest spots but wasn’t on True Blood yet, and I wanted to find someone grounded," Woll told Glamour.

Woll felt like she was born for the role of a vampire since her skin is "the color of death."
Woll joked around with CNN, saying that her paleness made her confident in playing a pulse-less vampire. On a more a serious note, she explained that she was attracted to True Blood because she loves "material that pushes the boundaries."

Woll studied for her role as an angsty teen vampire by watching lots of animal attack footage.
Woll says that Jim Parrack, who plays Hoyt, is her closest friend on the set of True Blood.
Considering they spend so much time shooting together—Woll's Jessica is in a love triangle with Parrack's Hoyt and Ryan Kwanten's Jason—the actress says they've become well acquainted. She also mentions that she and Stephen Moyer, who plays her maker Bill, are also very good friends.

It only took Woll five days to get her southern accent down for her role in True Blood, which takes place in Louisiana.
However, the accent didn't come as easily as it sounds. While practicing her southern drawl, her self-described "Yankee, Brooklyn sound" would peak out. She finally got comfortable with the accent by the second season.

Deborah's favorite genres of music are funk and blues and her preferred musicians are Nina Simone and Martin Sexton.
With her taste in music, Woll perfectly fits into True Blood's location of Louisiana, the home of JazzFest. Additionally, she loves to listen to classical piano.

Deborah is a huge Comic-Con fan and makes sure that she attends panels every year.
Not that she's a lifelong comic book fanatic, though—Woll's childhood was dedicated more to computer games. But during last year's Comic-Con, she did dress up as a modern-day comic book character: Axe Cop, the barbaric police officer written by an 8-year-old, Malachai Nicolle, and illustrated by Malachai's older brother, Ethan, 32.

She eats at Chipotle, just like you.
It's easier to imaging hanging out with Woll when you can picture a location you're comfortable with. You know, not something bougie or intimidating. Try Chipotle, for instance.
In this interview with British GQ, she mentions rolling through Chipotle for food after painting her house. That is totally what a real person would do. Therefore, Deborah Ann Woll is a real human being. And a real hero.
Nerds will be pleased to know that she digs comic books.
Woll's been turned into a comic book character thanks to the True Blood comics, and she's keen on the medium. Her boyfriend is a huge comic book collector, which means that she "proxy own[s] about 50,000 comic books." She admits she's not as well versed as her dude, but she can appreciate a good story.
Not only is Woll a gifted actress, she has a beautiful singing voice.
In an interview with Rolling Stone's film critic Peter Travers, Deborah Ann Woll kept it classier than satin pajamas when discussing on-set shenanigans. Travers mentioned that Rutina Wesley, who plays Tara, had mentioned frequent singing on set, and asked Woll to sing for him (old man with a moustache alert!). "I think we should do Gershwin," she said, before easing in to a rendition of "They All Laughed." Who doesn't love standards?
