To illustrate this week's cover of the New Yorker, Owen Smith stretched his imagination to the breaking point to render a future pulpy New York, where cops catch you for drinking big sodas and all the dames wear red dresses. And the men are real men, wearing only jeans and white T-shirts.
This cover riffs on Mayor Bloomberg's proposed soda ban, which would stop businesses in NYC from selling sugary beverages in sizes over 16 ounces.
