The New Jersey high schooler who tried to sue her parents for support money has accepted a $56,000 scholarship to attend college in the fall.
Rachel Canning of of Lincoln Park, N.J. will be attending Western New England University in Springfield, Mass. thanks to the $56,000 boost, where she'll major in biomedical engineering. Cannick's first choice was the University of Vermont, who offered her $20,000 worth of scholarship money, but she wanted her parents to finance that, along with basically the rest of her life. That didn't work out for her.
She's back at her parent's home after staying with a friend for weeks and dropping the utterly ridiculous legal battle. She appears to be adjusting well, making responsible decisions and all.
