Former Glee actress Naya Rivera was arrested Saturday night in the Chesapeake area of Kanawha County, West Virginia Saturday night at approximately 9:30 p.m. According to a criminal complaint obtained by NBC affiliate WSAZ, deputies were called to a home in the area for a domestic situation involving Rivera’s husband Ryan Dorsey.
“[Dorsey] says his wife, Naya, had struck him in the head and the bottom lip while the two were taking their child for a walk down the street,” reported Jatara McGee and Markie Owens of WSAZ, who originally broke the story late Saturday night.
Dorsey reportedly gave authorities a cell phone video allegedly showing footage of Rivera striking him.
Rivera was arraigned on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge shortly after midnight and released on her own personal recognizance after posting a $1,000 bond. The New York Daily News reports Rivera was released to her father-in-law.
Dorsey and Rivera were married in July of 2014. The nuptials drew headlines, as the pair walked down the aisle three months after Rivera and Big Sean called off their engagement.
Twitter users displayed their typical lack of sympathy and chill on the matter. And given that Big Sean spun the canceled engagement into the single “IDFWU,” his recent tweet doesn’t seem like a coincidence.
