In line with keeping audiences waiting for long periods of time before a movie comes out, Aquaman has gotten a new release date even later than it’s original July 27, 2018 release date. Adjust your comic book movie calendar accordingly.

Deadline reported the Jason Momoa (The Red Road, Game of Thrones) starring film will premiere Oct. 5, 2018. ICYMI Momoa’s Aquaman made his first splash in Zack Snyder’s polarizing Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice this year. Aquaman will be seen again next year in the Snyder-led Justice League, which may be a good or bad thing depending on your reaction to BvS. So, audiences won’t go too long without seeing the king of Atlantis.

Aquaman will be directed by James Wan, who’s responsible for horror hits in recent years including The Conjuring franchise and a little movie known as Furious 7. Talking about his plans for Aquaman Wan told IGN, “Aquaman is a character that a lot of people have made fun of over the years and I just think it’s fun to actually show a really different, cool, badass side to this character, but at the same time, let’s not forget to have fun with it.”

Aquaman is set to also star Amber Heard as Mera and Willem Dafoe. The film is set to have Arthur Curry a.k.a. Aquaman face off with foe Black Manta.
