Ontario Man Launches GoFundMe Page To Make ‘Wayne’s World’ Sequel

An Ontario man has launched a crowdfunding campaign to get his 'Wayne's World 3' script read

Ready for another Wayne’s World movie? Well, aspiring screenwriter Trevor Schindeler is. The North Bay bro has been trying to get Mike Myers (or anyone) to read his script for Wayne’s World 3 for the last 23 years.

The original Wayne’s World movie, a big screen spin-off of the infamous Saturday Night Live skit, hit theatres in 1992.  After Wayne's World 2 was released the following year, Schindeler came up with an idea for a third film. He set about writing his synopsis and started pitching it. But, there was no bite from within “Fortress Hollywood.”

“For twenty-three years, I have tried to get someone, anyone, inside Fortress Hollywood to read my screenplay,” Schindeler says on his crowdfunding page.

Trevor, who had never written a screenplay beforehand, says he studied the first two movies in great detail before coming up with his script, but has received nothing but rejection letters as movie studios have a strict policy of not accepting unsolicited submissions.

“To date, no one has. Everyone has refused to read it including producers, directors, actors, and even entertainment agents.”

So, since Hollywood wouldn’t listen Schindeler turned to the Internet. He's set up a crowdfunding page to purchase outdoor advertising and further promotion for his unproduced screenplay, which he promises is "well-crafted and brilliantly funny".

Are you one of those die hard Wayne’s World fans that thinks a third movie needs to happen? Go ahead and contribute. On the fence as to whether you need a little more 90’s nostalgia in your life… You can read Schindeler's full Wayne's World 3 script here and then make your decision.
