"Fifty Shades of Grey" Lube Doesn't Work, But the Sequels Are Still a Go

A California woman couldn't orgasm with "Fifty Shades of Grey"-themed lube, but the movie sequels are going to continue undeterred.

This whole Fifty Shades of Grey phenomenon is bigger than we imagined. Apparently there's a whole line of lubricants and condoms, from "At Ease Anal" to "Silky Caress." Somewhere in between those two lies the "Come Alive Pleasure Gel"—and the makers are being sued. The complaint? The for-her-pleasure lubricant did not bend the toes as advertised.

Paperwork in California shows that Tania Warchol  has filed a class action lawsuit for not achieving the exhaustive, "soul-grabbig orgasm" that Anastassia Steele receives in E.L. James' book.

The complaint notes that the product's packaging promises users will "experience enhanced orgasms and stimulation as every tingle, touch and vibration intensifies." It includes the lines from James' second Fifty Shades novel printed on the box — "I surrender, exploding around him — a draining, soul-grabbing orgasm that leaves me spent and exhausted."

Warchol is attempting to get her money back (and everyone else's money back because she assumes that everyone else did not receive pleasure). Buy it now, if you want to try to jump on her lawsuit later. But like Steele's salad, we're sure this will get tossed.

In a truly daring display of bird-flipping, the Fifty Shades of Grey sequels are going forward as planned. With Grey projected to take in $60 million this Valentine's Day weekend, the two James' sequels Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed have been gotten the—no safety word necessary—greenlight. Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan have been signed for sequels, but it's unclear if directed Sam Taylor-Johnson will return. According to reports, there's been a bit of a rift between the director and the book's author. Could that rift be overcome by $60 million? The announcement was made at the first public screening this weekend, with Johnson, Dornan, Taylor-Johnson and James present.

No word if Grey will plant it's tentpole into an annual Valentine's Day slot (or if Lovehoney will make Grey-themed lube for each movie). But seems like their brand is working for a lot of people.
