A remarkably stupid California woman was arrested this week after managing to make it through one Customs and Border Protection checkpoint last night with 27 pounds of meth.
The Smoking Gun reports that on Monday evening, 33-year-old Sylvia Mashiah successfully passed the first inspection at the Otay Mesa Port of Entry, which connects Tijuana, Mexico with San Diego. However, Mashiah accidentally drove into a second lot where Customs and Border Protection agents inspect suspicious cars. It's there that officials found the meth inside of the rear quarter panels of Mashiah's vehicle.
She was charged with one count of felony drug importation, which, according to the Smoking Gun, carries a minimum of five years in jail.
