Sections of Chinese City Quarantined Following Man's Death from Bubonic Plague

Over 100 people were placed under observation

Officials in China say portions of a city have been sectioned off after a man died from the bubonic plague

The Associated Press reports that the man died in the city of Yumen on Jul. 16, prompting health officials to place 151 people who had contact with him under observation. According to the Associated Press, Xinhua News Agency in China said the man caught the disease from a marmot. 

Though everyone who was examined is said to be healthy, portions of the city remain blocked off as a safety precaution.
