The woman who became the first person to purchase legal, recreational marijuana in Seattle has elected to make it an artifact rather than smoke it into oblivion.

According to the Associated Press, Deb Greene, 65, will donate the weed she waited hours to purchase from Seattle's Cannabis City on Jul. 8. Deciding that the moment must become part of history, she plans to donate it to Seattle's Museum of History and Industry. "I'm not a heavy user," Greene told the Associated Press. "I'm just proud of our state for giving this a try."

Cannabis City, which the city's Pot Blog says is closed until Friday due to a statewide shortage, also plans to donate memorabilia from Day One of legal weed in the state. This moment shall be engraved in the minds of Seattle residents and visitors for all of eternity.
