The top brass at Beats are about to cash in on a very large payout, following the audio company's acquisition by Apple for $3.2 billion. And one former Beats employee is coming for their coffers.

David Hyman, who founded MOG, a subscription music service purchased by Beats in 2012, just filed a perfectly timed lawsuit against the company, requesting more than $20 million worth of damages. Hyman contends that after he sold MOG to Beats and joined its ranks, he was unduly fired and therefore denied his rightful equity stake in the company. Had he made it, he would have been due 2.5 percent of Beats' "currently outstanding equity interests." In other words, he wants a part of the Apple cut that otherwise would have been coming to him.
