For the 12th year in a row, USC has the largest base of international students of any college or university in the country. According to a survey by the Institute of International Education, USC has 9,840 international students. Overall, the number of international students at schools in the U.S. grew to 820,000 last year, an increase of seven percent.
As a state, California drew the most foreign students, followed by New York and Texas. USC was trailed by the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign and its 9,800 international students. UCLA, currently struggling with diversity, came in sixth with 1,400.
