Another day, another new piece of casting news for a movie that's two summers away. Today in Man of Steel 2 news—but wait, is this even Superman's movie anymore? It was unexpected when Warner Bros announced that the follow-up to Man of Steel would be a Batman vs Superman movie, but it also made perfect sense. They're out to introduce a new iteration of the character, the better to jumpstart their counter-Marvel attack and maybe build to that mythical Justice League movie. It was...bemusing...when they decided to cast Ben Affleck of all people as the new face of the Bat-franchise.
But reports earlier this week suggest a handful of actresses are testing for a role that may or may not be Wonder Woman—gee, this film's getting kind of stuffed, isn't it? But wait, there's more! Now, according to The Wrap, this superhero smackdown will also feature: Nightwing. And the frontrunner to play the grown up Dick Grayson, who picks that moniker after falling out with Batman and discarding 'Robin,' is none other than...Adam Driver?!
Yes, you read that right. Hannah Horvath's weirdo boy-toy, maybe-true-love, may play the new Robin, in a movie that, last we checked, was still supposed to be about Superman. Zack Snyder and his casting directors have balls of steel, that's for sure. Next week look out for an insider tip that Larry David is a lock for Lex Luthor.
