Production on Anchorman 2 is well under way, and Steve Carell took some time to fly up from filming in Atlanta for The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. We're totally digging his whole professor vibe, with the salt-and-pepper hair and studious glasses.

Anyway, Jay pointed out that it's been almost ten years since they made the first Anchorman. "How has your character evolved since then?" he asked. "He will not evolve. He will devolve." Carell said. "He will be exactly—that was my hope with the movie, that it was going to be exactly the same," he laughs.

Carell is reprising his role as weatherman Brick Tamland; the film also stars Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate, David Koechner, Kristen Wiig, and of course, Will Ferrell.

Carell also said his young son is really into parkour—maybe he just wants to follow in his dad's footsteps.

Anchorman: The Legend Continues comes out this fall.
