Walmart has been desperately fighting to set up shop in New York City, and plans to open the first NYC location in Brooklyn have been officially shut down. Here's what spokesman Steven Restivo had to say: "Walmart today announced that we were unable to agree upon economic terms for a project in East New York." He continued: "We remain committed to bringing new economic development and shopping options to New York City, especially in the neighborhoods that need them most.”
That last statement proves that Walmart isn't about to quit their NYC invasion attempt. New York may have one round one, but this fight doesn't appear to be over.
