The Black Widow isn't a flashy piece of hardware, there aren't any animated keys or gimmicky "gamer" gloss. The BW's aesthetic is simple and minimalist in design but there's a lot more going on as far as practical use. The keys have a matte finish that keeps you from smudging potato chip grease all over them and not only do the keys have backlighting but the entire board has it. This takes some of the strain off of your eyes when you're playing in the dark and you glance down from the monitor to the keyboard. It also looks like something you'd be using in a futuristic military bunker. Using Razer's Synapse 2.0 software, you can control how bright you want the lights. Mac fans should be happy to know that Synapse also supports OS X as well as windows. Though a little buggy on the Mac side, it still gets what you need done even with having to do a restart every now and then.
