With Microsoft hedging its bets with its Metro UI, it makes sense that the rest of its software line make the shift as well. According to a leak by LiveSide, the next to move over to Microsoft's gorgeous tile-based design is the company's Hotmail email service.

The screenshots show the email service getting trimmed down and simplified. LiveSide says the Metro UI comes out when you click the "Newmail" button—which will likely become "Hotmail"—and four Metro-style buttons fall down that allow you to switch between other Microsoft services including Mail, People, Calender, and SkyDrive.

The new design should make the service faster and easier to use on tablets and other touchscreen devices.
