It’s pretty crazy that the iPad has worked its way into schools and offices as it has around the country without the cornerstones of work productivity software, such as Word and Powerpoint. After all, these are the programs that almost everyone first learns to use (besides Doom, of course) because of their practical applications in almost every field for any task. Thus, not too surprisingly, Microsoft has finally whittled its Office suite down to an appropriate app-sized iteration including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, according to The Daily, who got their hands on a working prototype.

There’s no word on a clear drop date for the app, but since it’s already been submitted to the App Store, its release could coincide with the iPad 3’s supposed March 9th unveiling. Interestingly, we won’t be seeing an Android version of the app.
